The International Scientific Forum "Public Administration" (annual)
The International Scientific Forum "Public Administration" is an annual conference, organized by NWIM RANEPA in St. Petersburg. Thematic expert discussions are held at the NWIM RANEPA areas, and plenary meeting traditionally takes place in the Dumskiy Hall of the Tauride Palace (St. Petersburg, Shpalernaya Street, 47). Politicians, leading scientists and experts in the field of public administration, representatives of corporations, large industrial enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses, public organizations and universities, graduates of NWIM RANEPA, currently holding positions in the authorities, major Russian corporations, banking and legal sphere are participants of the Forum. The main topics of the Forum are the issues of efficiency and quality of public and municipal administration in Russia and in other countries, public control, the use of blockchain technologies in public administration and the digital economy. Particular attention is paid to project management, as well as to the implementation of modern human and social technologies.
Working languages are Russian and English. The III International Scientific Forum «Public Administration» was held in St. Petersburg on May 31 - June 1, 2018.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), annual
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is a unique event in the world of business and economics. SPIEF has been held since 1997, and since 2006, it has been held under the auspices of the President of the Russian Federation, who has also attended each event.
Over the last 20 years, the Forum has become a leading global platform for members of the business community to meet and discuss the key economic issues facing Russia, emerging markets, and the world as a whole. It is an effective platform for business communication, offering meetings with high-ranking Russian and international leaders, government representatives, including delegations from BRICS, SCO and CIS countries, world business leaders, internationally recognized political figures, as well as leaders in science, culture, and the media. The fundamental issues and trends affecting Russia, emerging economies, and the whole world are identified, analysed and publicized.
For the last few years NWIM RANEPA (St. Petersburg) together with RANEPA (Head campus Moscow) have been awarded an invitation to organize their own panel sessions in the framework of the Forum. In 2018 it was «Economics of the future. The role of state and business», organized by the Committee for Economic Policy and Strategic Planning of St. Petersburg and NWIM RANEPA. Number of questions were discussed during the session, such as: concepts of economics of the future, the role of business, society and State power in the processes of economic transformation. The highest rank scientists of Russia, senior executives of the Northwestern Federal District and business entities have participated in discussions.

International Conference “Eurasian Challenge” (annual)
International Conference “Eurasian Challenge” is an annual conference organized by the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg. Among the participants there are politicians and the leading experts in the field of Eurasian integration, representatives of business community, academic and non-governmental organizations of the member states of the Eurasian economic integration.
The core issues of the Conference are the role of Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) in the global world, EEU in the face of new geo-economic and geo-politic problems, creation of a single information space, role of business in the development of EEU integration processes, problems and perspectives of cooperation (EEU and SCO, ASEAN; EEU and EU), etc. The discussion is focused on integration law, priorities of the EEU member countries cooperation in such fields as industry, agriculture, business, transport and logistics, energy policy, problems of technical and custom regulation, labor migration, building of the common educational and research environment. Special attention is devoted to the role of St. Petersburg in the processes of Eurasian integration and cross-border regional cooperation, arrangement of conditions for cooperation projects between St. Petersburg and members of the Eurasian integration processes.
NWIM RANEPA participated in the Conference in the years 2015, 2016 and 2017, both as a co-organizer together with the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg and by invitation of its experts and Russian and international scientists.
Social and scientific congress "Gorchakov Readings" (annual)
On April 3 Plenary Session of The Third International social and scientific congress "Gorchakov Readings" was held in the Scientific Library of NWIM RANEPA. It has been held in the Institute since 2015 by the decision of the Director Vladimir Shamakhov. This year just before FIFA World Cup, problems of interactions between state, sport and law has become the main topic of the Plenary Session of "Gorchakov Readings". In the discussion participated professional sportsmen, public figures, scientists, lawyers, economists and political scientists.
Vice president of all-Russian Federation of kickboxing, president of Federation of kickboxing in the Leningrad Region, nine-time World Kickboxing Champion Vyacheslav Tislenko opened the Plenary Session. He made a report on theme "Youth sport and multicultural relations", in which he noted that Russian youth has clearly expressed a request for a healthy lifestyle, constructive recreation and an opportunity to express of their own initiatives. Sport as well as tournaments in national marital arts allow to achieve these goals uniting people of all nationalities of our country and CIS states.
Associate professor of the Department of Political Comparative Studies, PhD in Political Sciences Vitaly Gorokhov presented results of his research on theme "Mass sports and Top-class sports in state policy: case of Russia in a comparative perspective". Many-time medalist of Skeleton Russian Championship and Russian Cup, bronze medalist of the World Championship 2015 in team race Maria Orlova presented her report on theme "Political games on sport arena".
